Working To Improve Mesa And Its Neighborhoods

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the Mesa Grande Community Alliance part of the City of Mesa?
No. We are a group of residents trying to make are neighborhood a better place to live, work, shop, learn, and play. We have forged alliances with other neighborhood groups, corporate partners, community leaders and city offices to help develop a vision for West Mesa.

Q: Are Mesa Grande's leaders elected in some way?
Yes. We have recently adopted operating rules (see link to the left). We are currently seeking nominations for members of the steering committee and chairs.

Q: Where does the Mesa Grande Community Alliance get it's funding?
We have received grant money from the Mesa United Way, from Pride funds for our Focused Futures study (see our Action Plan). We received matching funds from Arizona Public Service and facilitation from APS for the study. In 2001 we received a Spirit of Mesa award for our work and used the money to fund our Summit of Community Leaders in February. We have received non monetary support from Mesa CAN and Mesa Neighborhood Services. Everything else is done with volunteers or out of pocket.
